It is no surprise that good water has such a profound effect on our health. The average adult human body is made up of 69% water.

Here is a short list of body parts and the percentage of water that is in each:

BODY PART WATER CONTENT (%)
BRAIN 85%
BONES 35%
BLOOD 83%
LIVER 90%

In his book the “Miraculous Properties of Ionized Water”, Bob McCauley, states that if people kept their bodies properly hydrated by drinking an adequate amount of water , 60% to 80% of the chronic disease in our society would be abated if not rendered completely absent.

Mr. McCauley believes that when we fail to drink enough water, over a lifetime, toxins begin to interfere with the brain’s delicate neurochemical balance. Mr. McCauley believes that this can lead to a series of events that lead to brain diseases and imbalances including clinical depression, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and other dimential-related diseases. He indicates that reversing these psychiatric conditions is not easy, but can be accomplished by following a strick 100% diet of raw foods and drinking one to two gallons of ionized water each day. If any of the above problems are relevant in your life in any way, I recommend that you purchase his book.

I can’t verify Mr. McCauley’s statements, as I’m not a scientist or a medical practioner. However, I do know that drinking alkaline ionized water has improved my life dramatically by virtually eliminating my arthritis and acid reflux. In addition, my energy level has increased significantly, and I no longer suffer from ragweed in the fall. That is good enough for me!

There is a ex-professor from Simon Fraser Universary that claims that alkaline water ionizer machines are unable to alter the pH or ORP water. He infers that alkaline water ionizers are of no use, as they have no scientific foundation in terms of being able to alter the properties of water. His website is ranked at or near the top of the Google search engine for alkaline ionized water at all times. As soon as the website starts to slip down the rankings, it is immediately boosted back up to the top of the rankings, which means it is subject to sophisticated Search Engine Optimization techniques, which is an expensive and time consuming task. Many Canadians who begin to investigate alkaline ionized water find his website and immediately decide that the ionization of water is not helpful. Don’t be fooled by his website!

When one of our distributors called the ex-professor to invite him to a demonstration, the ex-professor declined the invitation. Our distributor then offered to bring a machine the ex-professors’s home, or to any lab of his choosing to demonstrate that our machine does if fact change the pH and ORP of water when the water is passed through our machine. The ex-professor declined the offer. When the distributor asked the ex-professor how he could publish false information on the internet and not be willing to attend a live demonstration that would completely dispel the ex-professor’s claim, the ex-professor hung up on our distributor.

The following article is written by Bob McCauley, the widely respected author of “The Miraculous Properties of Ionized Water”.

Why the “Quack Watchers” Need to be Watched

By Bob McCauley

We’ve all seen the websites of the self-proclaimed debunkers of faux science and other myths. They explain to us that, except for the things we personally know to be true, everything we believe to be true is completely false. Almost every rumor we have heard turns out to be an urban myth when it comes to the Quack Watchers and other debunkers. And if something that they denounced turns out to be true, not another word is ever said about it and the debunking web page is quietly removed.

What quack watchers do best is plant doubt in our minds when we are trying to search out the truth about something such as a health issue. It’s easy to be a skeptic. It’s hard to be a believer and even harder to believe in things that others regularly ridicule. Quack Watchers often have a chilling effect on an open debate because of the way they often scoff at the issues they are challenging.

As a whole, we tend to believe the Quack Watchers because we want to believe that we can’t be so easily fooled. And it’s reassuring for us to believe that we are not so easily fooled. We enjoy hearing that the things that may sound a little weird or too good to be true of course could not be true. The most dangerous debunkers are the ones who have a background in science, but little or no experience at all with the subject that they are debunking. Many of the de-bunkers tend to be heavy on their opinion and light on the facts. In fact, they quite often present their opinion as gospel. For instance, when the interpretation of a photo is in question, their analysis is offered as fact, the final report.

I don’t expect the de-bunkers to go away. But we need to understand that many of the claims some have made are no more than one more opinion, not the Last Word. What bothers me is that so many of the debunkers serve nothing more than to confuse us. However, it becomes unsettling when we’re trying to determine the truth about crucial issues such as our health.

Quack Watchers denounce Lorraine Day, M.D. because she dares challenge the medical establishment and tell people that we can heal ourselves if we live on the right diet and have faith in God. They conclude from their Debunkdoms that someone is a crank when in fact they are someone they simply have profound differences with.

When a radical scientific concept is first introduced, there is commonly resistance to it by the prevailing scientific community of the time. New ideas are commonly ridiculed and derided because people become comfortable with ideas and they don’t want to change. Often, the members of the established community must die off so a new generation can be raised with the new concept and accept it from the beginning without any unnecessarily hand-wringing about what they once embraced as the truth that has now been shown to be superceded by the next wave of discovery. The new concept will no longer be described as radical.

My problem with one Quack Watcher is his ridiculous denunciation of Ionized Water as snake oil when, in fact, a staggering amount of research has been done on the effects of Ionized Water, which is produced by running filtered tap water over positive and negative electrodes that produce positive and negative ions in the water that are then separated. Thus, ionization produces two different waters at the same time, one alkaline the other acid.

All of the research done has arrived at the same conclusion: Ionized Water benefits everything it comes in contact with as long as its used correctly. (For instance, don’t drink acid water.) The Quack Watchers who denounce Ionized Water could not be more wrong about it since Ionized Water is one of the most phenomenal inventions of the 20th century for a number of reasons.

Their first mistake is to suggest that only purified water be consumed. Purified water is water without minerals produced by reverse osmosis (RO) or distillation. I have written extensively myself against the practice of consuming purified water.

Water Ionizers are designed to be used with your tap water or bottled water. If you attempt to ionize purified, de-mineralized water, you will not get a change in pH nor will the ORP (oxidation reduction potential) change. Minerals must be present in the water for ionization to take place. With water that contains minerals, ionization changes both of these properties, pH and ORP. Read my article on Ionized Water for a more detailed explanation of its properties.

Ionized Water is very alkaline and helps balance the body’s pH. It is crucial to point out this characteristic when it comes to those who would denounce Ionized Water because we must consume substances that are alkaline to maintain a balanced body pH. Few substances are more alkaline than Ionized Water with an adjustable pH of between 8 and 10. When we acidify ourselves with a processed food diet and a stressful lifestyle, we open ourselves up to every disease imaginable. At a pH of 10, Ionized Water is 100 times more alkaline than the body should be at pH 7. To conclude that consuming a substance which is 100 times more alkaline than the body ought to be is not beneficial to our health is to demonstrate you know nothing about Ionized Water and body pH. The average person is much more acidic than she/he ought to be. Bodily acidity is the door to disease, the unraveling of our health. To ignore the incredible life-saving potential that high pH Ionized Water has to raise our overall body pH is to ignore the facts. Therefore, we need to put extremely alkaline substances into our body in order to offset this incredible acidity we create through poor diet, pollution and stress. Ionized Water has been demonstrated over and over again to raise body pH. How could it not? When we constantly consume soft drinks, which are extremely acid (pH 2.5 ~ approximately 50,000 times more acid than ideal body pH 7.0), we are dropping our body pH. When we consume Ionized Water slowly we raise our body pH until we are in homeostasis or balance.

The Quack Watcher states that the term Ionized Water is meaningless to him. Is he suggesting that ionization, a scientific principle, doesn’t exist? Or is he admitting that he doesn’t know what ionization is? Whether we believe in Ionized Water or not is irrelevant because it is a physical fact that cannot be denied. We can argue philosophy, but not physics and Ionized Water is chemistry and physics and what it does for the body and for our health is undeniable.

He suggests that Ionized Water is simply a placebo, something that we believe is going to change our health when in fact our mind is doing all the work. In other words, Ionized Water has no physiological affect on the body, only a psychological one, which certainly is not the case. Ionized Water balances the body pH and is a powerful antioxidant, hydrator and detoxifier.

This is our first clue that the debunker understands little if anything about Ionized Water. To ionize means to gain or lose an electron and water that has been ionized is water that has these characteristics, that of either having an extra or missing electron. We know this is true by the physical scientific measurements we can make regarding Ionized Water. We can measure changes that ionization causes with both a pH meter and ORP meter. On the alkaline side, the pH is elevated and the ORP is driven into the negative range, which counteracts the oxidation of the body when we consume it.

Tim Bolen runs a website called quackpotwatch.org that has dared to challenge these websites that denounce practically ANYTHING that is not wholly accepted by the medical establishment. In the world of the quack watchers, nothing in the universe is provable unless a double-blind study has been done on it. I often point out that there is absolutely no evidence of chronic disease in the wild, meaning that wild animals do not contract chronic diseases such as cancer, arthritis, diabetes, high blood pressure. I have challenged people to show me evidence of any chronic disease in the wild and no one has yet to produce any. Do we need a double-blind study to determine the obvious? Other than universities, the only industry capable and willing to perform double-blind studies is the pharmaceutical industry. Double-blind studies are enormously expensive, costing hundreds of thousands, even millions of dollars. The pharmaceutical industry is able to afford expensive studies such as these because it is very profitable for them. Studies lead to the release of medical drugs for all kinds of disease that make pharmaceuticals a lot of money. If taking drugs to control disease is the path that you chosen so be it. But drugs and medicine do not lead to health. Alternative health and Wellness protocols are often natural and inexpensive. And since no one stands to make much money off them, double-blind studies are never done on “alternative cures” such as Ionized Water. Another example is the fact that I recommend people move toward a Raw Food Diet, which doesn’t cost much at all for someone to do. However, since no one is ever going to make large amounts of money from promoting raw foods, double-blind studies are never done.

The reason debunkers and quackwatchers spend their time on these websites is because they can be quite profitable. They appear as “expert witnesses” in lawsuits and they collect large fees for doing so. In essence, the intentions of quackwatchers are not to expose scams and fraud, but to denounce anything that the American Medical Association has not blessed. The Medical establishment can say and suggest almost anything and not worry about being challenged on it.

The detoxification effects alone are enough to make you realize that Ionized Water is not like any other water you will ever consume. Ionizing water changes the water molecule grouping structure so it is much smaller, hexagonal in shape, and therefore far more penetrating and hydrating. And as it hydrates your body tissue, it pushes out all the things that do not belong in the body, which are commonly known as toxins. How water molecules group together is another thing that debunkers like to state does not happen and is so much more quackery, when in fact a huge amount of scientific research has been done on water-molecule clusters .

The debunker of Ionized Water who is found on the Internet could not have gotten it more wrong in every regard. He is a retired chemistry professor from Simon Fraser University in Canada and if he had bothered to examine the properties of Ionized Water he would have found that they are exactly as I describe them to be. He also would have found that they do exactly what I say they do inside the body. He discredits himself immensely when he states that Ionized Water is simply “snake-oil on tap”. History will humiliate him and Simon Fraser University should denounce any association with him. If they do not, then they are complicit in his denouncement of the one of the greatest health advances in human history.

Those that would attack Ionized Water as being a hoax of some sort do not understand how important it is that we consume substances that are negatively charged and possess negative ions. Those who debunk Ionized Water have never consumed it. None that I have seen have ever read my first book, Confessions of a Body Builder, nor excerpts from my second book, Achieving Great Health in 90 Days or Less. In my eight years of studying and consuming Ionized Water (1.5 – 2.0 gallons per day), I have never found anything that Ionized Water doesn’t enhance and benefit as long as it’s used properly. Read what Ionized Water has done for me . And what you can expect from drinking Ionized Water .

Many articles have been written about Ionized Water. Dr. Hidemitsu Hayashi, a Heart Surgeon and Director of the Water Institute, Tokyo , Japan , wrote a 30 page article explaining Ionized Water in great detail . Dr. Hayashi describes Ionized Water in excruciating detail, including its precise chemistry during and after ionization. All this is completely ignored by the Quack Watcher who claims to be a chemist. When we don’t understand the rudimentary principles of how something functions, some of us tend to simply dismiss it out of ignorance. This is certainly the case with the debunker of Ionized Water because anyone with even the rudimentary knowledge of its chemistry will see that Ionized Water is exactly what the body requires: higher pH, strong antioxidant, negative charge, abundance of electrons, incredible hydration and detoxification properties.

If the debunker truly wanted to know if Ionized Water actually did anything to the human body one way or another, he would need to consume some for a few days or a week, but I can assure he has not. Debunkers are notorious for never trying what they denounce. They are part of a faux-intelligentsia that believes that all science can be explained on paper and therefore there is never a reason to actually test anything in the field. This is the biggest mistake that any scientist can ever make and, by his own admission, the debunker of Ionized Water has never touched a drop of it nor used a water ionizer to draw the scientific conclusions he has made. As with many of the debunkers, closer examination of them and their methods reveals who they are and that they themselves should be debunked.

——————————————————————————–
pH (potential for Hydrogen): (chemistry) p(otential of) H(ydrogen); the logarithm of the reciprocal of hydrogen-ion concentration in gram atoms per liter; provides a measure on a scale from 0 to 14 of the acidity or alkalinity of a solution (where 7 is neutral and greater than 7 basic is and less than 7 is acidic)

ORP (oxidation reduction potential): The potential for one liquid substance to reduce the oxidation of another substance as measured in millivolts (mV).

WHAT IS pH?

There are different claims about the origen of the definition of pH, but essentially, pH is the measure of the availability of hydrogen ion in a solution such as water.

Atoms are made up of protons (positive charges), electrons (negative charges), and neutrons (no charges). Atoms occur naturally with no charge, but if an electron is picked up or lost, the atom becomes negatively or positively charged and by definition becomes an ion.

pH therefore is a measureof positive or negatively charged hydrogen ions. Negatively charge hydrogen ions are referred to as alkaline, and positively charged hydrogen ions are referred to as acids.

The pH scale ranges from 0 (most acidic) to 14 (most alkaline), with pure water being exactly neutral at 7.0 Any meaure of pH below 7.0 means that the item is acidic, while any measure above 7.0 means the item being measured is alkaline. The more acidic an item, the lower the pH. The higher the pH above 7.0, the greater the alkalinity of the item.

The pH scale is a logaritmic scale. The Richter scale is another logarithmic scale which measures the intensity of earthquakes. A difference of 1.0 on the pH scale represents a factor of ten times the amount of hydogen ions. For example, a pH of 5.0 is ten times more acidic than a pH of 6.0

WHY IS pH IMPORTANT?

The medical and scientific communities have acknowledged that diseases can’t survive in an alkaline invironment. Diseases like cancer, and diabetes, and arthritis, etc etc etc. need an acidic environment to survive and grow. No wonder people are starting to talk and learn about alkalinity! Alkaline substances or liquids are simply liquids that carry a negative charge.

The ideal pH level for humans is 7.365, which is slightly alkaline. Unfortunately, most Canadians become more and more acidic as they age. Humans are supposed to consume a diet consisting of 80% alkaline foods and beverages, but unfortunately, the average Canadian only consumes 3% alkaline items in their diets. The human body can eliminate harmful acidic wastes by urination, defecation, sweating, and breathing, but it can only eliminate a certain amount of acid. Therefore, the ability of the body to perform its natural functions depend upon what you put into your body, and how you treat your body.

The human body is incredible at protecting itself. When the body can no longer eliminate acid waste at the rate that it consumes or produces it, the body will store the excess acid waste in fat cells. that is why we see so much obesity in our society. Unfortunately, the acid buildup manifests itself in other harmful ways, including disease.

You can test the pH level of your body fluids with test strips. You simply urinate on the test strips first thing in the morning and the results are easy to read and are reasonably accurate. I don’t have any affiliation with this company, but you can research or purchase the strips at: www.ph-ion.com and click on test strips.

WHY IONIZED WATER IS IMPORTANT TO YOU

The medical and scientific communities have acknowledged that diseases can’t survive in an alkaline environment. Diseases like cancer, and diabetes, and arthritis, etc etc etc. all require the body to be acidic in order to survive and grow. No wonder people are starting to talk and learn about alkaline diets and alkaline ionized water!

The human body is all about energy. Nothing happens without energy transfer, so our bodies require interactions between positively and negatively charged ions. Water makes up 70% of the human body, so the energy transfers in our bodies are between hydrogen (H+) ions and hydroxyl (OH-) ions. The scoring system for hydrogen ions is the pH scale, which measures the availability of H+ or OH- ions in the water. This logarithmic scale ranges from 0 (most acidic or positively charged) to 14 (most alkaline or negatively charged), with pure water being neutral at 7.0 In the case of the human body, negative (alkaline) is actually a positive thing, as negatively charged ions can interact and neutralize the positively charged acid wastes in our body. For a more complete description of pH, see the pH section to the left of this page.

The ideal pH level for humans is 7.365, which is slightly alkaline. It is typical in our society for most people to become more and more acidic as they get older because of the foods and beverages that we drink. Ideally, humans are supposed to consume a diet consisting of 80% alkaline foods and beverages, but unfortunately, the average Canadian only consumes 3% alkaline items in their diets. The human body can eliminate harmful acidic wastes by urination, defecation, sweating, and breathing, but it can only eliminate a certain amount of acid. Therefore, the ability of the body to perform its natural functions depends upon what you put into your body, and how active you are.

The human body is incredible when it comes to self preservation. The body can and will regulate itself in so many ways. As an example a body will shiver when it is cold to keep warm, or a body will slow down it basal metabolic rate to conserve energy if it is not receiving adequate caloric intake. When it comes to excess acid waste that the body can’t eliminate by the normal processes of urination, defecation, sweating, or breathing, it will store the excess acid waste in fat cells. That is why we see so much obesity in our society. Unfortunately, the acid buildup manifests itself in much more harmful ways, including disease. You can test the level of acid in your body fairly simply by testing a urine sample first thing in the morning with test strips.

As I said before, the body can only eliminate so much acid. Now that you are aware of the potential problem, what can you do about it?

The adult human body is made up of about 70% water. Intuitively, it makes sense that we should attack the problem of “acidosis” (the state of being acidic) with water. If your body is full of acid, you can work on reducing the acid by eating an alkaline rich diet, reduce acid intake, and by drinking alkaline ionized water. Eating a “raw food” diet is very healthy, but it is not easy. Becoming a vegetarian has obvious health benefits, but it also takes a great deal of discipline, and it does not guarantee that you your body will achieve a pH over 7.0

Drinking alkaline ionized water helps! Here’s why. A water ionizer separates naturally occuring neutral water by the simple process of electrolysis. The machine separates stable tap water into two separate streams of water. One stream is full of H+ ions (acidic water) and the other is full of OH- ions (alkaline water). The water from the stream with the OH- ions has effectively been bombarded with billions of negatively charged electrons. You will be able to see the OH- ions in the freshly tapped water, as they appear as millions of tiny bubbles in the glass of water that comes out of the alkaline water line of your ionizer machine. At first glance, the water may appear cloudy, but closer inspection will reveal the bubbles. When you drink the water with the negatively charged bubbles, you are on your way to better health.

The negatively charged water produced by a water ionizer is immediately bio-available to your body, whereas it takes the stomach 3-4 hours to make tap water bio-available. Ionized water is often referred to as micro or reduced water because the size of the H2O cluster has been reduced to 5-8 H2O molecules per cluster from the typical 12-18 H2O molecules per cluster in tap or bottled water. The smaller ionized water clusters are believed to be 3-6 times more efficient than regular water in hydrating your body.

Not only does ionized water with a negative charge (alkaline water) help neutralize the acids in your body, the water also dramatically increases the amount of oxygen in your body. More oxygen is available because of the configuration of the water has OH- ions as opposed to H2O molecules. The increased amount of oxygen typically provides increased levels of energy for many users.

So, what can you do to help your body help itself? I don’t want to turn this into a long list of DO’s and DON’Ts, but there are a couple of really obvious ones to consider as a first step.

The major DO is to start drinking lots of water. How much? Every human being should drink at least half their body weight in ounces of water every day. What??? Yes, half your body weight in ounces of water each day. That means if you weigh 160 pounds, you should drink 80 ounces of water. You may think that is a lot of water and it is, especially if you are drinking tap water or bottled water. If you have access to ionized water, it will be much easier to drink because it has a silky texture as feels smoother than regular water. While drinking regular water tends to cause bloating, ionized water doesn’t sit in your stomach for hours, as it is immediately bio-available. The key to good health and staying young is continue to hydrate yourself properly.

Now here is one important DON’T. Don’t drink pop! Coca Cola Classic has a ph 2.5 That means that Coke is about 50,000 times more acidic that water. You have all heard about the experiment where you put a rusty nail in a glass of Coke and the rust disappears. Well, 50,000 is a big number. If you our your children are drinking pop…..STOP! If you want a second one, don’t drink coffee at is has a pH of about 5.0, which is 100 times more acidic that pure water.

People in Canada and the USA are just discovering the health benefits of paying attention to what they eat and drink. Those fortunate enough to be able to own a water ionizer get a huge head start.

Solution

Soft Water (below 5 grains)

Water lacks enough minerals for proper ionization

Install a remineralization pre-filter

Moderately Hard (6-10 grains)

Excellent for ionization

No water pre-treatment required

Hard Water (11-15 grains)

Water contains excessive mineral content that will shorten the filter life and reduce electrolysis function.

Source water is an extremely important factor in determing the ability of a water ionizer to perform. Water ionizers need ionizable minerals in the water in order to be effective.

Water “hardness” is typically used to refer to the ability of the water to make lather from soap. If water is “hard”, it is difficult to make soap suds. Technically, water hardness is a measure of the amount of Calcium or Magnesium (Calcium Carbonate CaCO3) that is dissolved in water. Hard water can result in scaling on pipes and appliances such as hot water tanks and dishwashers. Hardness is measured in parts per million (ppm) or grains /imperial gallon. 1 grain/Imperial gallon = 14.25 ppm OR 1 ppm = 0.07016 grains

Groundwater is typically “harder” than surface water because the groundwater has travelled slowly through the sediments that are rich in calcium and magnesium which dissolve over time.

Surface water typically has a greater component of direct runoff from precipitation and therefore has less opportunity to dissolve high concentrations of minerals.

The amount of hardness that a person can tolerate is a matter of personal preference. Hard water is not known to have any specific health-related effects. People with hard water often choose to install a water softener to reduce the formation of scale in their water system and make washing easier. Water softeners work by exchanging the calcium and magnesium minerals with sodium or potassium (supplied in salts). It is recommended to maintain a separate unsoftened water supply for drinking.

When hard wate is heated, it has a tendency to form scale deposits and it typically takes a lot of soap to clean clothes and skin. Soft water allows for a much lower requirement for soap, but it may result in accelerate corrosion of water pipes. The ideal balance between incrustation and corrosions is 6-10 grains.

In general, soft water is difficult to ionize due to the lack of minerals present in the water. Vancouver and Victoria are cities that have naturally occuring soft water. In situations where soft water is present due to nature, or the use of water softeners or reverse osmosis machines, manufacturers of water ionizers boost the level of minerals in soft water by one of two methods. Some manufacturers put calcium or a similar salt-like substance in their filters, while others inject a calcium solution into the water.

Enagic uses a solution of NaCl (sodium chloride or common salt) and NaOCl (sodium hypochlorate which is commonly knows as bleach) to enhance the performance of their machine when soft water condtions prevail. Jupiter/Ionways and Chanson take a much more sensible approach by allowing customers to add calcite (naturally occuring calcium carbonate) in crystal form to enhance performance. The benefit is that the machines can produce very high and very low levels of pH under soft water conditions. The downside is that injecting a “do not drink” solution into healthy water is intuitively alarming, but more importantly, the injection of the solution is not metered out which means that the amount of the solution is inconsistant.

Manufacturers such as Tyent and KYK use filters to reintroduce minerals to the water in soft water applications. While this system doesn’t allow for extreme acid and alkaline levels, they do allow for a slow and consistent introduction of minerals into the water that allow for more than adequate alkaline for healthy pH levels for drinking, and adequate levels of acid water for use on the skin and for plants. I believe the tradeoff of giving up extreme levels of pH that are rarely if ever used for safe healthy water is a simple decision.

In general, when water is hard, ionizers produce great alkaline levels of output, but struggle with producing lower acid levels. Cities with hard water include Calgary and Saskatoon and many other areas in the prairies and Ontario.

Water supplies with a hardness greater than 15 grains are considered poor but tolerable. Ionizer manufacturers typically don’t provide a warranty on their machines when the source water exceeds harndess levels of 15 grains per Imperial gallon unless the source water is pre-treated. Hardness in excess of 35 grains in drinking water is unacceptable for most domestice purposes.

What is ionized water?

Ionization simply means to gain or lose an electron. Water that has been ionized becomes either alkaline or acidic, meaning that the pH has been adjusted up or down.

Alkaline water is full of Hydroxyl ions. This is the water we drink that has many Health Benefits as described below. When you look at a glass of alkaline water that comes out of an ionizing machine, it will appear cloudy. Upon closer inspection, you will realize that the cloudy appearance is created by millions of bubbles in the water. The bubbles are the hydroxyl ions that are incredibly beneficial to the human body in removing acid waste and providing oxygen to the body.

Acidic water is full of Hydrogen ions. This is water that we apply only to the outside of our body. It is also great for plant growth.

How does the ionizer unit produce ionized water?

Water is run over positive and negative electrodes, which ionizes the water. It is then separated into alkaline and acidic water as it passes through membranes. It accomplishes this by repelling the water now that it has been “charged” into positive and negative ions.

Why should I drink ionized water?

There are three main benefits to Ionized Water. First and foremost, it is a powerful antioxidant. People spend hundreds of dollars a month purchasing antioxidants because they are anti-diseases, anti-aging, anti-cancer, which they accomplish through neutralizing free radicals. Free Radical damage causes us to age and causes disease. Since Ionized Water is a liquid antioxidant, it is easily absorbed into the body which makes it much more effective and a powerful antioxidant.

Once the Ionized Antioxidant in the form of Hydroxyl Ions (oxygen molecule with an extra electron) donates its extra electrons to free radicals (oxygen molecule that is missing one electron) you are left with lots of oxygen. Ionized Water gives you Energy by providing your body with lots of oxygen! This is one of the most incredible aspects of Ionized Water!

Secondly, Ionized Water Balances body pH because it is very alkaline. Our diet is often extremely acidic . Soft drinks, fast foods & processed foods deposit acid waste in our bodies that builds up over time and creates an ideal environment for diseases of all kinds to thrive. Look at any cancer patient for instance and their bodies are invariably acidic to some degree. This is, of course, true even with children. Chronic soft drink consumers such as children put themselves in grave danger by allowing their bodies to build up acid waste. Many end up with serious diseases at a very young age. Maintaining an alkaline pH (6.9-7.2) helps us to maintain an environment in our bodies that is NOT conducive to disease. It may take years depending on how acidic your body is, but Ionized Water, because of its alkaline properties, will flush acid waste from our bodies.

Ionized Water is meant to work as a preventative measure, however if you are ill with any disease it always helps to stay Alkaline

Thirdly, Ionized Water has a different molecular cluster size. It contains only five to six water molecules instead of the ten to thirteen that conventional water molecule clusters have. It has changed from an irregular shape that is 10-13 molecule to a hexagonal regular shape that is half the size. This smaller or “reduced” water is much more hydrating than conventional water. There are two consequences of this. First, Ionized Water is much more hydrating than conventional water and, second, it is extremely detoxifying.

The detoxification properties of Ionized Water are powerful and astounding. They simply can not be ignored. A Water Ionizer has different levels of intensity because the average person cannot start out drinking strongly ionized Water. This is particularly true of the elderly, who need to start out at the lowest level and work their way up slowly. People who have spent a lifetime building up acid waste in their bodies will suffer headaches and diarrhea if they drink too much too soon.

How does ionizer water taste compared to conventional water?

The alkaline water produced by the MMP 7070 is colourless and odourless. A common remark regarding the texture of Ionized Water is that it tastes smoother than conventional water. This is because of the molecule cluster size and shape. Since it is small and regular shaped, it feels smooth because it is. It also does not fill you up and bloat you the way conventional water can do if you drink a lot of it at once.

How long does ionized water stay ionized?

The Antioxidant (hydroxyl ions) will last a few days, but the intensity is reduced by up to 80% within 24 hours. The raised pH levels will last for 1-2 weeks. It is best to drink the water as fresh as possilbe. In fact, my research in our lab shows that the strength of the ORP begins to regress after as little as 15 to 20 minutes. Therefore, to achieve the best results for ORP (oxidation reduction potential) the water should be consumed as fresh as possible.

What are pH and ORP?

pH (potential for Hydrogen): (chemistry) p(otential of) H(ydrogen); the logarithm of the reciprocal of hydrogen-ion concentration in gram atoms per liter; provides a measure on a scale from 0 to 14 of the acidity or alkalinity of a solution (where 7 is neutral and greater than 7 basic is and less than 7 is acidic)

ORP (oxidation reduction potential): The potential for one liquid substance to reduce the

What is the importance of pH and ORP?

A favourite technique of people selling water ionizers is for them to give the water away for testing. While the give you an 18 litre jug that lasts for several days, the prime benefit is derived in the first day and by theend of the second day, the water contains very little negative ORP. While sales people and websites go on and on aout the benefits of higher levels of alkalinity, the real benefit to the body comes from lower ORP. The raised pH (alkaline properties) will last approximately 1-2 weeks. If you are only looking for , but the best results are obtained when the water is fresh.

Does ionized water have any negative effects?

Absolutely none, as long as it is used properly. Only the alkaline water should be consumed. NEVER DRINK THE ACIDIC WATER. We have never seen a single negative effect from Ionized Water, either alkaline or acidic, as long as it is used properly.

What should I expect from drinking ionized water?

This will initially depend on what level of strength you begin drinking Ionized Water. Ionized Water provides your body with lots of oxygen, which is why it gives us energy. Ionized Water is much smoother tasting than conventional water. It makes better coffee, tea, juice, etc. Alkaline Water is wonderful to cook with because it helps hydrate the food and bring out its flavor. However, other changes in your body after drinking Ionized Water will be much more subtle and will take some time. If you have accumulated acid waste in your system, it probably took years for you to get into that condition and it will take some time to reverse it. As the body is slowly brought into pH balance by drinking Ionized Water, it will naturally begin to function more efficiently and problems will begin to correct themselves. Ionized Water can help bring your body into balance naturally by providing it with oxygen and alkalinity so it can heal itself and prevent diseases from occurring in the first place.

Who should drink it?

Anyone and Everyone, young and old, human or animal. It is beneficial to some degree to nearly everyone and everything it comes in contact with.

Is there anyone who should not drink ionized water?

No. However, some people must start by drinking very small amounts of Ionized Water, such as 8 oz. of lower pH (8.0 for example) level ionized water per day. This is especially true of the elderly who often have unfortunately allowed heavy metals and other toxins to accumulate in their bodies. Sometimes years of medication has accumulated in them. Toxins and heavy metals that have accumulated in people over decades can lead to diseases such as Alzheimer’s Disease, Lewy Body Dementia and a host of other mental disorders and psychiatric diseases.

Can a person become too alkaline from drinking ionized water?

People have been known to drink as much as 1 to 2 gallons of Ionized Water every day and gotten great benefit from it, and they have not become too Alkaline. On the contrary, one of the most common imbalances people have today that leads to health problems is that they are too acidic. Our body pH should be approximately 7.0 (measured through saliva or urine). The more acidic we are, meaning a 6.6 pH or lower, the greater opportunity we have provided disease to flourish in us. A low body pH creates an environment in our bodies which is conducive to diseases such as arthritis, cancer, etc to flourish. You can observe that people who are very sick always have a very low body pH. (Not blood pH, which is always stable around 7.4) The sicker they are, the lower the body pH. Diseases will further create this acidic condition in us in order to better thrive. In short, it is very difficult for us to become too Alkaline. We should always drink Alkaline Water.

How much ionized water should I drink per day?

Every person is different, but it is generally accepted that a person should drink half their body weight in ounces of water per day. For example, it you weigh 160 pounds, you should drink 80 ounces of water per day.

How should I start drinking it?

While most people are anxious to experience the benefits right away, it is best to start slowly. Start out slow at level one, drinking 1-3 glasses per day. If the water agrees with you, increase the amount you drink and the level of Ionization intensity. The stronger, the better, but take your time in building up to the higher levels. The antioxidant is most powerful on the high levels. You will of course experience more energy at the higher levels, but the fresher the ionized Water is, the stronger these properties are. The detoxification is STRONG and unmistakable. However, it only lasts a short time.

The stronger you can drink Ionized Water, the better it is for you because the water is more Alkaline, more Detoxifying, and a stronger Antioxidant that provides your body with more Oxygen

Will I need a plumber?

No, this can be done by the average person who has little or no plumbing experience.

How long will it take to install?

Usually in about 5-10 minutes. Refer to user guide for installation insructions.

Will I need any additional parts to install the water ionizer?

Only about 10% of all faucets do not have the standard screw thread that will fit the faucet diverter that comes with Water Ionizers. If you find the faucet diverter will not fit your sink, note what kind of faucet you have and take the faucet adapter to any hardware store and they will have the necessary parts you will need.

Why do some people get headaches and diarrhea when they first start drinking alkaline water?

The Ionization process creates water molecule clusters that are half the size of regular water molecule clusters. This is why Ionized Water is sometimes referred to as “reduced water” because it has become reduced in size from a 12 water molecule cluster to 6 water molecule cluster. This makes the water much more hydrating because it flows through our body tissue more easily, thus pushing toxins out of our system. It is this detoxifying effect that sometimes gives people headaches and diarrhea and why there are weak, medium, and strong alkaline water levels plus clean water for drinking on our ionizers. All water ionizers should have more than one level.

What is the warranty on the ionizer?

Your ionizer is guaranteed against all defects in workmanship and materials for 5 years (parts and labor). Items returned will be repaired and returned, or replaced with a similar ionizer of approximately the same age and condition.

Return Policy

We offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee policy and invite you to try our machine for 60 days. If at any time in the first 60 days you wish to return the unit, we will give you a refund less 15% restocking fee, as long as the ionizer is returned in “as new condition”. “As new condition” means the water ionizer is not scratched, damaged or broken in any way and is returned in the original packaging with all the hoses, connectors, parts, manual, etc. No return can be accepted without prior authorization.
